Haywards Heath Appeal Allowed
Catesby are pleased to announce that outline planning permission has been granted on land at Penland Farm, Haywards heath for 210 houses. The consent was granted on appeal, following the decision of the Inspector to allow the outline application on the site.
The site is located on the north west boundary of Haywards Heath, adjacent to the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural beauty (AONB) and the Grade II* Registered Borde Hill Park and Garden. The application proposed a high quality, sensitively designed development that sought to respect the character of the area; a fact recognised by the Inspector in his decision. The Inspector noted that Catesby had put forward a comprehensive set of proposals which would offer a significant degree of landscape mitigation and compensation. He concluded that the proposed development would not affect the significance of the Registered Park and Garden, nor the significance of the High Weald AONB.
