Kedleston Appeal allowed
Catesby have been successful in gaining outline planning consent at Keddleston Road, Allestree, Derbyshire. Consent was secured on appeal for two schemes, for 195 and 400 dwellings following a public inquiry which took place in July 2016. The planning inspector in allowing both appeals recognised, (in his words) the very great public benefit of market and affordable housing which is much needed, especially in Amber Valley District but also in Derby City. As was his responsibility, the Inspector undertook a full assessment of the development and bearing in mind the site’s sustainable location decided, in accordance with the National Planning Policy Framework, that the benefits far outweighed its impacts.
