Objections Unfounded At Kedleston

Catesby Estates are pleased to announce that the decision made by the Court of Appeal in July 2018 to reinstate outline planning permission for 400 new homes at Kedleston Road in Allestree, has been upheld by the Supreme Court.

The challenge to the ruling was made by Kedleston Voice, a local action group opposed to development on the site. 

They were refused permission to have their case heard in the Supreme Court as the submission did not raise an arguable point of law.

The Court of Appeal rightly upheld the Planning Inspectors conclusions on the impact of the development on the setting of Kedleston Hall, which they described as ‘comprehensive and complete’. The Court of Appeals decision was clear that the Inspectors conclusions in relation to this matter were ‘unassailable’.” 

“Our proposals will deliver 120 affordable homes in an area where there is a recognised shortage of housing, particularly affordable housing. We are now able to bring this development forward and a Reserved Matters Application is being prepared and will be submitted to Amber Valley District Council in April 2019.”
