Every year the Catesby Estates team come together for a day of volunteering and teambuilding.

For 2024 we selected volunteering with the Sussex Wildlife Trust as we have a number of land sites located within their region.

Seaford Head

We spent the morning with part of their team at Seaford Head Nature Reserve in East Sussex carrying out a beach clean.

Seaford Head is one of the best places to enjoy spectacular views of the Seven Sisters chalk cliffs and Cuckmere Valley, and is home to many nationally rare and significant species of plants, birds and insects.

After a quick safety briefing we set to work recording and submitting our findings to the national marine conservation database, which enables them to collect valuable information on the litter found on our beaches.

We collected and disposed of over 25 kilos of waste which included everything from coffee cups and bottle tops, to cable ties and food wrappers.
